Welcome to Paro!
Once you arrive in Paro, you will be received by our representative and guide who will transfer you to your hotel in Thimphu. Upon arrival, proceed for check-in at your hotel.
Depending on arrival time, we can proceed for city sightseeing or relax in the hotel.
Visit interesting weekend market (Thu-Sun). Vegetable vendors from different pockets of the country come to sell their products.
Overnight stay at Thimphu .


Enjoy breakfast at your hotel.
In the morning we will visit Handmade paper mill, School of Arts and crafts (closed on Sundays, government holidays) where students learn 13 different arts used predominantly in Bhutan. We will also visit nearby folk heritage museum and National Library before lunch. After lunch, drive pass by Memorial Chorten built in memory of the 3rd King.
Visit Buddha viewpoint, Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the valley, Enclosure where national animal, Takin are kept and Zilukha Nunnery.
Overnight stay at Thimphu .


Have your morning breakfast at the hotel.
After breakfast drive back to Paro and visit National Museum, the first of its kind which has a collection from natural history to religious paintings. Visit 17 century Paro Dzong (Fortress) on foot and continue walking through the oldest wooden bridge still in use. Evening stroll old Paro town and peep into some local handicrafts stores.

Wake up to a freshly prepared breakfast at your hotel.
In the morning, we will hike to Tiger’s Nest Temple, the most revered temple in the country that literally hangs on a granite cliff overlooking the Paro valley at 900m above the valley floor. The temple is associated with Guru Rimpoche who visited in 8th century and believed to have meditated three months in this cave and converted entire valley into Buddhism.
It is 2 hours walk up hill for an average hiker; however it can take our almost entire day too.
Evening back to the hotel and relax. Overnight stay at Paro.

  • Documents - Some of the essential documents you need to carry are a Passport and visa(Pre-approval or on arrival), Flight tickets, itinerary, Travel insurance, and Money for expenses during your stay
  • Clothing - When visiting Bhutan, prioritize clothing appropriate for varying weather conditions and respect for local customs. Essential items include warm layers like sweaters, jackets, thermals, and waterproof/windproof outer layers, along with sturdy, insulated footwear. It's also essential to bring multiple sets of undergarments, a pair of socks, a small towel, a windcheater jacket, raincoat, conservative clothing, and shwal or a scarf to cover the head.
  • Sunglasses and Sun cap - A lightweight sun cap and sunglass with side flaps are perfect to keep your head cool and avoid sunburns on a sunny day
  • Cold Cream & Sun Screen (SPF 40+): To avoid sunburns and chafing, you need to put on sunscreen as well as cold cream.
  • Footwear - A comfortable shoe is required when traveling outdoors. They shouldn’t be chunky, instead, they should be lightweight and sturdy. Also advised to carry some sandals it will help you in spending your day at leisure.
  • Water Bottle 1 Ltr.: Hydration is extremely important when it comes to traveling. Carrying a water bottle that you can refill.
  • Medication - It is advisable to pack some essential medications, such as glucose powder, medicines for headaches, diarrhea, and motion sickness, Dettol (an antiseptic liquid), bandages, cotton, and sanitary napkins.
  • Bag for all your Toiletries: A bag with all your essentials including napkins, toothpaste, sanitizers, paper soap, etc. should be carried in a ziplock bag.
  • Original passport with minimum 6 months validity from the date of tour arrival along with sufficient blank pages for the stamping of visa.
  • A valid Tourist Visa for the duration of the tour. Handwritten passport is not acceptable
  • 1) What is the best time to visit Bhutan?
  • Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the best seasons to visit Bhutan as the weather is pleasant and there is no rain or snow.
    2) Do I need a visa to visit Bhutan?
  • No, Indian citizens do not need a visa to visit Bhutan. But you need an ‘Entry Permit’ that gives you access to Paro and Thimphu and is issued by the Bhutanese Immigration Office's outpost at the border crossings. To go beyond these two cities, you need a ‘Special Area Permit’ from the immigration office in Thimphu. Do carry a photo id and a photocopy of your passport along with two latest photos.
    3) What kind of clothes should I pack?
  • Spring/Autumn: Light jackets, layers, comfortable walking shoes.
  • Winter: Heavy jackets, thermals, gloves, woolens.
  • Summer: Light clothes, raincoat/umbrella.
  • Respectful clothing for temples (no shorts, sleeveless tops).
    4) What is the currency of Bhutan?
  • Ngultrum (Nu, BTN) is the official currency of Bhutan. 1 Ngultrum is equal to 1 Indian Rupee.
    5) Can I use Indian rupees in Bhutan?
  • Small denomination Indian currency, below 500 INR, is also accepted as legal tender in Bhutan. It is recommended to use the local currency, Ngultrum, for any transactions above BTN 500.
    6) How many days can Indians stay in Bhutan?
  • The ‘Entry Permit’ obtained at the border is valid for 7 days. If you wish to extend your stay beyond 7 days, you must get it extended at the immigration office in Thimphu.
    7) Can you drink alcohol in Bhutan?
  • Yes, alcohol consumption is allowed in Bhutan. You will find local and well as imported alcohol in shops and restaurants around Bhutan.
    8) Can I apply for a Bhutan visa online?
  • Citizens of India, Maldives and Bangladesh do not need a visa to visit Bhutan. All you need is an entry permit that is easily available at border crossings. For the rest, their visa is processed online by a licensed Bhutanese tour operator before arriving in the country.
    9) How many days will I require to see Bhutan?
  • Around 5 to 7 days are enough to explore Bhutan. If you want more days to just relax and disconnect, you can simply extend your stay.
    10) What is the language of Bhutan?
  • Dzongkha is the national language of Bhutan. Overall, there are around two dozen languages spoken in Bhutan, which also includes Nepali.
